Principal Member of Technical Staff
· Managed RFP efforts
and met with all potential vendors for product presentations, requirement
analysis. Defined system requirement and detail technical work items to
vendors’ technical team. Oversee the RFP process to ensure products can
fulfill the requirement of future deployment.
· Managed FFA for LTE
services on four US Zones. Successful field trial starting from FFA lab to
production. Deployed 625 systems which are now installed and turned up within
nationwide LTE network. More than 90,000 subscribers with LTE CSFB service
supported to date.
· Worked closely with
vendors on defining requirement/specifications for variety of Overload
Control tools to prioritize/classify traffic during congestion period,
perform end-to-end overload control to mitigate the congestion issue and
ensure services can be delivered during overload condition.
· Lead an AT&T PM
OSS team to integrate LTE S/P Gateway Northbound interface on Performance
Management. Achievement includes: Implement PM data collection on 15 minutes,
hourly and daily report. Graphic design for Performance Trending.
· Lead an AT&T FM
OSS (Netcool team) team to integrate LTE S/P Gateway Northbound interface on
Fault Management. Achievement includes: fault correlation, root cause
analysis on transport layer and real time monitoring of traps from each
individual Network Equipment.
· Work with S/P Gateway
vendors’ EMS team to design the northbound interface, perform IOT testing,
and write/implement integration test plan.
.

2005 – 2008
Senior System Architect
· Lead a Long Term
Evolution (LTE) team to launch high speed wireless network nationwide that
provides high speed data services using LTE devices and future voice plan.
· Led team of IOT
test engineer to perform Diameter-based application IOT which includes PCRF
Gx interface testing with PGW, Sp interface testing with SPR and real time
usage update with Balance Manager via Sy-like interface.
· Managed RFP efforts
and met with customers for product presentations, requirement analysis.
Defined system requirement, provided requirement documentation for
development team and prepare answers to RFP.
· Designed the
scalable EMS architecture that manages eNodeB and EPC (MME and S/P Gateway)
via TL1 and SNMP interface and provided northbound SOAP and SNMP interface to
customer’s OSS suite.
· Designed
Performance Management solutions that collect current data from NE and
provide analysis tool to detect troubles early before a costly service outage
occurs.
· Led team of MME and
Gateway engineers to perform Interoperability test with PCRF vendor for
policy control in multi-vendor environment. Led team of engineers to perform
Lawful Interception functionality test with third party vendor.
· Led team of test
engineers to perform CSFB on S102 Interface Interoperability test with IWS.
· Led team of test
engineers to perform Interoperability test on S101 interface between eRNC and
MME on tunneling procedures.
· Led team of System
Engineers to demonstrate a proof of concept Application Architecture which
enables LTE mobile subscribers to perform video streaming, video
conferencing, online gaming and rapid file transfers with data speed up to
75mbps.
IXIA Corp., Richardson, TX
1989 - 2005
Senior Member of Technical Staff
Lead an IP-based IMS performance test team
to perform interoperability test between existing wireline, wireless and
emerging IP-based communications networks.
Major achievements include
· Design call session
control for SIP based protocol verification tool which can stress test
million of INVITE messages per test module to allow customer to perform
bandwidth utilization analysis in the lab environment.
· Worked closely with
customer’s product validation team and provide the protocol breadth, stack
depth, and traffic/signaling capacity required to stress and verify IMS
network elements
· Strong hands-on in
full-cycle application development from requirement gathering, high level
design, detail design and product deployment
· Design test suites
which utilize scripting language to formulate configurations for any of the
four primary IMS functional areas: access network, core network, interworking
elements, and application servers. Key test scenarios include: Standard call
generation, Function test suite creation, Negative testing, Handover
scenarios, Load and capacity testing, Application signaling and bearer
traffic
· Delivered a
GUI-based EMS to be integrated into customer’s NOC. EMS manages the
OSMINE-certified devices, providing service providers with all the fault,
configuration, accounting, provisioning and security (FCAPS) features
required for a manageable and reliable Triple Play service offering. It
automates a number of complex, tedious, and error-prone tasks, thereby
raising productivity, improving accuracy and reducing operational costs.
· Designed
Performance Management solutions that collect current data from NE and
provide analysis tool to detect troubles early before a costly service outage
occurs.
· Coordinated with
other IPTV equipment vendors and led the team to perform interoperable/trial
test between media server, DSLAM IP concentrator/IGMP proxy functionality and
CPEs.
